Huang Baoxian - Physiotherapy

Baoxian has been a physiotherapist for more than 10 years. However, she would gladly refer to herself as an 11-year-old therapist, as she firmly believes that there is always more to learn.

Baoxian started her career in a community hospital where she had the opportunity to run exercise classes for the elderly (Gym Tonic Program), while seeing them for individual sessions in the wards, outpatient rehabilitation and in their homes.

While specializing in stroke and geriatric rehabilitation, Baoxian rediscovered her passion for treating musculoskeletal conditions during her internship in 2016. This led to her joining a physiotherapy clinic and working as an in-house therapist for an MNC.

Conditions that Baoxian has experience in managing:

  • Pre- and post- surgical rehabilitation

  • Strengthening after deconditioning

  • Pain management

  • Office-related ergonomic management

  • Stroke recovery

  • Geriatric Rehabilitation

Over the years, Baoxian has also gained qualifications:

  • Physiotherapy in Geriatric Rehabilitation (2014)

  • Full registration with AHPC (2016)

  • Bachelors of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy – Trinity College Dublin in 2016

  • Clinical Educator for Singapore Institute of Technology (Physiotherapy) in 2017

  • Neuro-Developmental Technique in 2018

  • Certificate in Teaching & Learning for Polytechnic Educators in 2024

Never one to stay only in one place, Baoxian is also an adjunct lecturer at Republic Polytechnic. With the remaining free time she has, Baoxian works out, crochets and plays the drums.
